amine ox·i·dase (fla·vin-con·tain·ing)
(ă-mēn' oks'i-dās flā'vin-kŏn-tān'ing) An oxidoreductase containing flavin that oxidizes amines with the aid of O2 and water to aldehydes or ketones with the release of NH3 and H2O2. Acted on by antidepressants.
