volatilization in corn crop: I- effect of irrigation and partial substitution of urea by ammonium sulphate.
For the quantification of N[H.sub.3]
volatilization a PVC collector base (Figure 4), with 15.0 cm in diameter and 14.0 cm in height, was placed in each treatment box, fixed to a 4.0 cm thick Styrofoam board, with a center opening beneath the surface of the effluent.
Volatilization rates from water to indoor air: Phase II (EPA/600/R-00/096).
To quantify the losses through ammonia
volatilization, a semi-open ammonia collector made of PVC cylinder (0.20 m diameter and 0.40 m height) was installed in each plot close to the plant (Figure 1).
However, slurry application to soil promotes N[H.sub.3]
volatilization, which represents not only an N fertilizing value, but is also of concern for its adverse environmental impacts [7].
This result strengthens the previous suggestion that afternoon is the best period of the day to remove water N[H.sub.3] by
volatilization.
As a result, the lack of increase in N stocks even after long-term N fertilization may occur for two main reasons: 1) ammonia
volatilization; and 2) soil texture and climate of the area favoring leaching losses (WHITEHEAD, 1995; MEISINGER et al., 2008).
Pyrolysis char catalyzes the tar in the different temperature, heating rate, particle size and the
volatilization, and the pyrolysis char is modified by activating and loading Fe.

Ammonia
volatilization from soils fertilized with urea and varying rates of urease inhibitor NBPT.
This may be because after 15 days, manure started drying, which slowed down the decomposition of bacteria and thus, the N content lost due to the
volatilization and leaching.
Much of the BOD reduction was a result of
volatilization of the contaminated wastewater.
