a crystalline steroidal glycoside (Scilla maritima), present in squill, which can be hydrolyzed to glucose and proscillaridin A; the latter can be hydrolyzed to rhamnose and the steroid aglycone scillaridin A; has the same actions and uses as digitalis glycosides.
