Androgenetic alopecia is a type of hair loss that is diffuse, symmetric and progressive affecting both sexes.1 It is an androgen-dependent genetically mediated autosomal dominant disorder with
polygenic inheritance.2 It affects both genders but it is more common in men affecting 50%2 as compared to females affecting only 30%.3 Hair thinning begins between the ages of 12-40 years but the frequency increases with age.
The non-allelic effects revealed that this trait has
polygenic inheritance but complex.
The class will receive the following laboratory kits: Understanding the Human Genome, DNA Isolation, Eye Color and
Polygenic Inheritance, Genetically Modified Food, a Plasmid Simulation, along with a dihybrid cross poster.
There is no evidence suggesting that epignathus caused by environmental agents, mendelian or
polygenic inheritance. Sporadic chromosomal changes had been reported, but usually, it has not reported to be associated with epignathus.[sup][5] Chromosomal analysis of this case revealed a normal male karyotype.
According to Peck and Peck (4) many observations have justified
polygenic inheritance theory, such as the increased prevalence of dental anomalies and significant differences in gender predilection.
Very little is known about the
polygenic inheritance of skin colour.
However the larger estimates of the inflation factors do not have to reflect the population stratification (Yang et al., 2011) under especially
polygenic inheritance as was also pointed out by Lee et al.
Congenital abdominal hernia might be due to anatomical variation,
polygenic inheritance or infectious diseases (Tyagi and Singh, 2010).
However inheritance of some traits involves complex genetic phenomena such as co- dominance sex-linked genes and
polygenic inheritance (Batul 2010).
The involvement of multiple genes (termed
polygenic inheritance) has a number of consequences.
Polygenic inheritance refers to conditions determined exclusively by a large number of genes, each with a small effect, acting addictively (i.e.
Researchers also verified that resistance to the pathogen in this population has
polygenic inheritance, is conditioned by both additive and dominance genetic effects, and that genotypes with high resistance were rare in the germplasm at that time.
