US-based KBR, a global engineering company, has been awarded contracts for a technology license, basic engineering design services and proprietary catalyst supply by Lihuayi Lijin Refining & Chemical for a new
olefins production unit in Dongying, China.
The company has invested 2 trillion won ($1.8 billion) in building the
olefin production facility, also called Mixed Feed Cracker (MFC), which is capable of producing 700,000 tons of ethylene and 500,000 tons of polyethylene annually.
Reactions of CpM[(NO).sub.2] (M = Co, Rh, Ir) with Substituted
Olefins. To explore the effects of substituents on the energetics of the reactions, a series of reactions involving electron-withdrawing and electron-donating groups and ring substituents on the
olefin were studied and the energetics are reported in Tables 1 and 2.
Olefin rugs in traditional and transitional designs from Mohawk Home and Shaw Living were $294 to $356 for 8-by-11-foot sizes, and a jacquard woven rug with a traditional design made by Orian Rugs was $356 for an 8-by-11-foot size.
With an Abbe value higher than 50--greater than those of thermoplastics such as polycarbonate and polyester, says Fosta-Tek--the new transparent
olefins yield products with low chromatic aberration.
The Dow Chemical Company (www.dow.com) is calling a new
olefin elastomers it has developed a "breakthrough." Called INFUSE
Olefin Block Copolymers (OBCs), they're said to provide performance and properties beyond current
olefin elastomers, including high-temperature performance, abrasion resistance, elasticity and compression set properties at room and elevated temperatures, and fast setup in processing for reduced cycle times.
However, by proper selection of
olefin backbone and acrylic side chain, functional groups can be attached to provide properties for the personal care formulator not easily achieved by an individual component.
Olefin, which is made from polypropylene, is one of the strongest fibers you can purchase, and certainly is the best for wicking.
