Only six years old, Shivani Angappan carrectly spelled tongue-tangling words like "hippocampus," "condyle," "occipital," "meninges," and even "leukoblast" to win the 2006 Jack and Jill National Spelling Bee at our Fitness Farm in April.
Shivani competed against kids from other age groups, even 11- and 12-year-olds, and had to spell really hard words like "occipital," "meninges," and "leukoblast." But she hung in there, finally winning the event by correctly spelling "vasa" (which means vessel or opening).
