Deaver retractor is used in cholecystectomy for the retraction of right lobe of liver and in truncal vagotomy for retraction of
left lobe of liver. The deaver retractor market is expected to register a significant CAGR growth over the forecast period.
CT abdomen showed a large hypodense area, with thick enhancing walls and internal septations in
left lobe of liver. There were multiple rounded hypodense areas within it arranged at the periphery measuring 9.7 x9.7x9.6cm (APxTSxCC) (Figure-1).
Based on biopsy report, octreotide scan was done to locate the primary lesion and it showed that the tumor was only present in
left lobe of liver (segment II and III).

In February 2011, a 79-year-old male patient with no history of alcohol use visited a private hospital with a complaint of abdominal pain, and biopsy was performed twice for the mass of 2x3x4 cm located in
left lobe of liver. Both biopsies were considered inadequate.
USG abdomen was suggestive of mild hepatosplenomegaly with an ill-defined inhomogenous echo pattern in the
left lobe of liver, small-volume ascites and right pleural effusion (Figure 1).
