We observed reduced CT bilaterally in portions of the visual cortex (BA17 and BA18),
insula (BA13), supramarginal gyrus (BA40), left superior (BA41) and middle (BA21) temporal gyri, right parahippocampus (BA35), right posterior cingulate cortex (BA31), and the claustrum (Figure 6, Table 6).
** (#) denotes P < 0.001 before and after stimulation in the
insula cortex, while ** and * denote P < 0.001 and P < 0.05, respectively, between the OSA model and different stimulation frequencies in the habenula.
None of the clinical variables (SANS, SAPS, BPRS, and GAF scores, age, and duration of illness) were significantly correlated with grey matter volume of
insula in patients diagnosed with schizophrenia (P > 0.004; Table 3 and Fig.
The normal references for each of these cerebral sulcus measurements, including the SF width, temporal lobe depth, width of uncovered
insula, POF depth, POF angle, and CF depth, across the full spectrum of gestational ages were recorded [Figure 4].
Cabe destacar que se reporto una disminucion de la sustancia gris en la
insula de pacientes con sindromes dolorosos y dichas disminuciones correlacionaron con la duracion en anos de la patologia dolorosa (Schmidt-Wilcke et al., 2007).
As stated earlier, the left
insula plays a role in a network of structures involved in emotion recognition.
We found that compared to matched controls, depressed adolescents in the resting state had lower ALFF in the bilateral cuneate lobe, left occipital lobe, and left medial frontal lobe, and higher ALFF in the posterior cingulate, left inferior temporal gyrus, right superior temporal gyrus, right
insula, right parietal lobe, and the right gyri fusiformis.
In contrast, consumption of the sugary drink in lean adults decreased cerebral blood flow in the hypothalamus, thalamus, striatum,
insula, and the anterior cingulate cortex.
"Our focus was on a region of the brain called the
insula - commonly referred to as the 'primary taste cortex'.
