cyclodialysis

Surgical separation of the ciliary body of the eye from the sclera so as to reduce its efficiency in secreting aqueous humour and lower the pressure within the eye in GLAUCOMA.

cyclodialysis 

Disinsertion of the ciliary body from the scleral spur which may produce a cyclodialysis cleft resulting in hypotony. It is performed occasionally in the treatment of glaucoma to reduce the intraocular pressure, as it forms a communication between the anterior chamber and the suprachoroidal space. It may also occur as a result of trauma or intraocular surgery (e.g. trabeculectomy). See recession angle; uveoscleral pathway.
