Odds ratio with 95% confidence intervals were calculated to see if
cobalamin deficient women were more likely to develop GDM.
Current concepts in the diagnosis of
cobalamin deficiency.

The aim of this study is to develop an in vitro model capable of mimicking low grade gastric inflammation and to use this model to investigate the activity of clinically relevant levels of
cobalamin as defined by earlier studies and finally to enhance our current understanding between the impact of active and inactive
cobalamin in the developed gastric model of inflammation.
Cobalamin is vital for DNA synthesis and hematopoietic cell division.
(17) This same group of investigators has also described pseudo-TTP in 2 patients with food-
cobalamin malabsorption.
An earlier study looked at the combined effect of
cobalamin with ascorbic acid on three ascites tumor cell types and found a synergistic effect decreasing mitotic counts and survival of tumor cells.
Megaloblastic anaemias are disorders resulting from abnormal maturation of haematopoietic stem cells due to inhibition of DNA synthesis, and two vitamins namely,
Cobalamin (Vitamin B12) and Folic acid are essential for DNA biosynthesis.
Infant
cobalamin status is determined by the
cobalamin content in the breastmilk and the maternal
cobalamin concentration during lactation.
