CIT

A gene on chromosome 12q24.23 that encodes a dual-specificity protein kinase which autophosphorylates and phosphorylates exogenous
target substrates (e.g., MYL9/MLC2) on both serine/threonine and tyrosine residues. It is required for KIF14 localisation to the central spindle and midbody, and is also a putative RHO/RAC effector that binds to the GTP-bound forms of RHO and RAC1. CIT plays an important role in regulating cytokinesis and in CNS development; it interacts with KIF14 and TTC3.
