service provider

An organisation, body or business that provides services to the public. In the context of health and social care, these services can be commissioned by local authorities, primary care trusts (PCTs) and GP commissioning groups. The actual providers can vary from local organisations to large private firms and are often found on approved lists of suppliers of goods and services.
