block contract

An NHS (UK) term of art for an arrangement in which the health services provider (as used in the UK, providers refer to corporate entities such as hospitals and trusts, and not to individuals) is paid an annual fee in installments by the Healthcare Commissioner in return for providing a defined range of services, especially a new service—e.g., respite care, day care, home care—over a fixed period.
