Bloodroot is used to stimulate appetite in humans and cattle and is used by veterinarians as a natural antibiotic for domestic animals.

Bloodroot colony
One of the first wildflowers to bloom in early spring, large colonies of
Bloodroot frequently carpet the forest floor and shine like fallen stars.

Horsetail, prickly ash, juniper,
bloodroot and gingerroot and hawthorn.
In spring the ditches along that road sent up May apples and
