Drugs that blocks the action of certain natural LEUKOTRIENES which cause the air passaged to tighten and narrow in ASTHMA. Some of them, like montelukast and zafirlukast are LEUKOTRIENE RECEPTOR ANTAGONISTS. Others inhibit the synthesis of leukotrienes.
