An MRI term for the strength (height) of a signal; the greater the amplitude of an MRI signal, the larger the number of protons in the image and the brighter it will appear.

Cardiac pacing The maximum absolute value attained by an electrical waveform, or any quantity that varies periodically; pacemaker amplitudes express the value of the potential difference in volts or current flow in amperes; pacemaker output pulses have typically averaged 5 volts and 10 milliamps.
