1. A biological specimen that is the opposite sex of a holotype.

2. Immunology Any of the alleles in the constant region of a given subclass of immunoglobulin that are detectable as antigens by members of the same species having a different constant region.

An inherited set of determinants or sequence of amino acids (e.g., on an immunoglobulin—Ig) and other proteins demonstrating heterogeneity, which is specific for an individual and more common in a racial group.

In humans, Ig light-chain allotypes are designated as Km (Inv) allotypes and heavy-chain allotypes as Gm allotypes.

Molecular biology
A protein or other biomolecular variant arising from genetic differences between individuals of the same species.
