Musca

(mŭs'kă),
A genus of flies (family Muscidae, order Diptera) that includes the common housefly, Musca domestica, a species universally associated with humans, particularly under unsanitary conditions; it breeds in filth and organic waste, and is involved in the mechanical transfer of numerous pathogens.
