MCM2

MCM2

A gene on chromosome 3q21 that encodes one of the highly conserved mini-chromosome maintenance (MCM) proteins that are involved in initiating eukaryotic genome replication. The hexameric protein complex formed by MCM2-7 is a key component of the pre-replication complex, and may be involved in forming replication forks and in recruiting other DNA-replication-related proteins; it is required for the entry in S phase and for cell division. The sub-complex formed by MCM2, MCM4, MCM6 and MCM7 regulates the complex’s helicase activity. MCM2 is phosphorylated, and thus is regulated, by protein kinases CDC2 and CDC7. It is also the retired HUGO symbol for MCM7.

Next, we compared the number of proliferating cells expressing the marker MCM2 in the glomerular layer, granular cell layer, and olfactory tract of control, as well as AD, PDD/DLB, or FTLD cases.
This PCR amplification was performed on replicate samples of MCM2, MCM5, and MCM8; results of next-generation sequencing are shown in Table 3.
In yeast, it has been found that depletion of MCM2 does not affect their growth rate but a 50% reduction of the dosage of MCM2 in yeast decreases the number of origins to be used per replication event.
Although some of these genes, such as MCM2 (25), NDRG1 (26), CBR1 (27), and EIF4A (28), have been identified as transcriptional markers of cancer, others, such as CALML5, have not been identified as having roles in SCCC or in other cancers.
Mcm2 is a member of the preinitiator complex essential for DNA replication.
mycoides (MCM2) were isolated from the soil samples.
Changes in the expression of CDH2/4/6/17 were associated with increased expression of several important stem cell-related transcription factors including FOXM1, MCM2, WWTR1, and Sox9.
(8-10) During the past several years, literature has emerged regarding the value of minichromosome maintenance protein 2 (MCM2) and minichromosome maintenance protein 5 (MCM5) as immunoassays in urothelial carcinoma.
