Analysis of BRAF V600E mutation in 1.320 nervous system tumors reveals high mutation frequencies in pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma,
ganglioglioma and extra-cerebellar pilocytic astrocytoma.

BRAF V600E is present in a wide range of brain tumors, including
ganglioglioma (~30%), pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (~40%), and epithelioid GBM (~50%), and is mutually exclusive with BRAF fusions.
The
ganglioglioma was qualified as anaplastic due to increased cellularity, nuclear atypia, and mitotic activity in the glial component (Figure 2).
In summary this report presents a rare case of suprasellar
ganglioglioma in a young male.
A magnetic resonance imaging scan was subsequently done, and the report suggested the presence of a large, left frontal lobe, multicystic inhomogenous tumour with characteristics consistent with a
ganglioglioma or pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma.
Dentro de la patologia tumoral se encontro un astrocitoma pilocitico, un
ganglioglioma, un gangliocitoma y un tumor neuroepitelial disembrioplasico.
Jesse has been plagued since birth with an extremely rare
ganglioglioma brainstem tumour, believed to be the first case formally on record in New Zealand.
Walnut Creek, CA, April 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Just nine years ago, Carlos Cabrera's life was dramatically changed when he was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor called
ganglioglioma. He survived, but was left with visible scarring that reminded him daily of the trauma he had experienced.
Other tumours were the final diagnosis in 7 patients (3 oligodendrogliomas, 2 meningiomas, 1 dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumour (DNET) and 1
ganglioglioma) while 'tumour-like lesions' was the final diagnosis in 3 lesions initially believed to be brain tumours on conventional MRI (infarction secondary to vasculitis, radiation injury and brain abscess).

Representative samples from the tumor were sent for frozen section and were reported as
ganglioglioma arising from the sympathetic chain.
