wick humidifier

a respiratory care device in which a piece of paper, sponge, or similar material that absorbs water by capillary action is inserted in the path of the airflow. With the addition of heat, high levels of humidity can be achieved over a wide range of flows and temperatures.

wick humidifier

An active humidification system in which gas flow is exposed to a material saturated with water.
