As a result of industry feedback, CME says the following modifications will be implemented with the September 2013 wheat futures contract: 1) wheat containing four parts per million (ppm) of
vomitoxin no longer will be considered a deliverable grade (currently, wheat containing 4 ppm of
vomitoxin can be delivered at a discount of 24 cents to the contract's price); and 2) the discount for SRW wheat containing three ppm of
vomitoxin will be increased from 12 cents per bushel to 20 cents per bushel.
Company says, "All finished products are tested at a third-party laboratory for melamine, cyanuric acid, salmonella, and a range of other aflatoxins and
vomitoxins before they are released for sale.
