vibrometer

(vī-brŏm′ĕt-ĕr) [L. vibrare, to shake, + Gr. metron, measure]
A device used to measure the vibratory sensation threshold. It is particularly useful in judging the progression or remission of peripheral neuropathy.

This technique basis is evaluation of the mobility degree through dynamic analysis having recourse to the application of an impulsive excitation on the tooth by means of an impact hammer and the measurement of the displacement by a laser Doppler vibrometer.
