ACAD9(redirected from very-long-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase VLCAD)
ACAD9A gene on chromosome 3q21.3 that encodes a dehydrogenase three times more active on palmitoyl-CoA than on stearoyl-CoA. ACAD9 is ubiquitously expressed in most normal human tissues and cancer cell lines, especially in heart, skeletal muscles, brain, kidney and liver.
Defects in ACAD9 cause isobutyryl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency.
