(ver'dō-hē'mō-krōm),
An intermediate stage in hemoglobin degradation to yield the bile pigments, that is, hemoglobin yields choleglobin (verdohemoglobin) and the loss of globin leaves verdohemochrome, the precursor of biliverdin.
