angled inwards - deviation away from the midline of the body, of a part distal to a joint, e.g. genu valgum where the tibia is deviated laterally in relation to the femur, resulting in a 'knock-kneed' appearance in adults, often due to osteoarthritis of the knee joint. Opposite of varum, varus. See also hallux.
