In sites available to a particular strain, at most one infection of that strain can develop to the stage of forming a uredinium.
The probability that a site will develop a uredinium is equivalent to the probability that a site will have at least one infection, which equals 1 - [[1 - (E/K)].sup.s].
On each site infected by both strains, only a single uredinium of one strain or the other may form.
Finally, the total probability that a Strain I uredinium will form in an infectable site for Strain I will equal the probability that a site will be infected by Strain I but not Strain 2 plus the probability that a site will be infected by both strains and a uredinium of Strain 1 will dominate.
