uncinate fasciculus

A compact, myelinated axon tract lying under the cerebral cortex. It is a long association tract that interconnects the frontal association cortex of the frontal lobe with the inferior temporal association cortex of the ipsilateral temporal lobe.

Ventral white matter tracts connecting frontotemporal regions, especially the projections of uncinate fasciculus (UF) and the inferior longitudinal fasciculus (IFG), have also been reported to be involved in semantic control processes, evidenced by performance on a homonym meaning decision-making task [113].
