USP20(redirected from ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 20)
USP20A gene on chromosome 9q34.11 that encodes a deubiquitinating enzyme which regulates G protein-coupled receptor signalling by deubiquitinating the beta-2 adrenergic receptor (ADRB2), playing a central role in ADRB2 recycling and resensitisation after prolonged agonist stimulation. USP20 also deubiquitinates: DIO2, thereby regulating thyroid hormone; HIF1A, stabilising it and enhancing HIF1A-mediated activity; and both Lys-48- and Lys-63-linked polyubiquitin chains.
