USP4(redirected from ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal esterase 4)
USP4A gene on chromosome 3p21.3 that encodes an enzyme which deubiquitinates target proteins (e.g., ADORA2A, PDPK1 and TRIM21), increasing the amount of functional receptors at the cell surface. USP4 plays a role in regulating quality control in the endoplasmic reticulum; it interacts with RB1, RBL1 and RBL2 and is expressed in the hippocampus.
USP4 is overexpressed in small cell carcinomas and adenocarcinomas of the lung.
