The Jamaican Anti- Doping Agency was initially unable to determine whether it was prohibited by the WADA rules but subsequently decided to impose sanctions on some of the athletes on the grounds that the drug was similar in structure to a banned substance -- tuaminoheptane.
However, JADCO itself then appealed the verdict saying the substance had a similar structure to tuaminoheptane, a banned stimulant according to the World Anti-Doping Agency.
