one of the natural gaits of the horse; a two-beat gait on alternating diagonals.
the head is held well in and the horse is not permitted to fully extend its limbs. The gait can be very showy but not fast nor a great coverer of distance.
not a racing trot in that the rhythm is not fast but the horse takes long strides and covers a lot of distance; the head and neck are extended.
