TFR2(redirected from transferrin receptor protein 2)
TFR2A gene on chromosome 7q22 that encodes transferrin receptor 2, a protein that mediates cellular uptake of transferrin-bound iron in a non-iron-dependent manner and is involved in iron metabolism, hepatocyte function and erythrocyte differentiation.
Defects in TFR2 cause haemochromatosis type 3.
