FOXA1(redirected from transcription factor 3A)
FOXA1A gene on chromosome 14q12-q13 that encodes a member of the forkhead class of DNA-binding proteins, hepatocyte nuclear factors, which are transcription activators for liver-specific transcripts—e.g., albumin and transthyretin—and interact with chromatin. Homologues in mice have roles in regulating metabolism and differentiation of the pancreas and liver.
