 [length]
an expression of the longest dimension of an object, or of the measurement between its two ends.
crown-heel length (CHL) the distance from the crown of the head to the heel in embryos, fetuses, and infants; the equivalent of standing height in older persons.
Measuring an infant's crown-heel length. From Lammon et al., 1996.
crown-rump length (CRL) the distance from the crown of the head to the breech in embryos, fetuses, and infants; the equivalent of sitting height in older subjects.
cycle length in cardiac pacing terminology, the time interval in milliseconds from one event to the next; it is the inverse of the intrinsic rate (beats per minute) or the paced rate (pulses per minute).

Analysis of the quantitative morphometric characters in these larger samples indicated highly significant differences in five of the six quantitative characters (Table 2: bottom row); shaft width relative to tooth length was the exception.

On the one hand, this phenomenon is similar to selectivity through the rings and can be described by an increasing monotonic function of the scallop size, but, on the other hand, it depends on the mechanical and physical conditions of dredging (e.g., the setting of the dredge due to the tooth length, meteorological conditions, etc.).
Since most teeth are conical, measurement of tooth length, as a single-dimensional measuring value, is not enough to evaluate periodontal ligament surface areas, and volume which are two- and three-dimensional indices.
Our analysis of bending and stiffness data for incised lumber specimens showed that incision dimensions vary on the basis of incision density, incisor tooth length, and wood density (specific gravity [SG]).
To compare the percentage of mean tooth length of the upper right central incisor the measurements were carried out using a digital Vernier caliper.
Groom (1994) subjected wood truss joints to eight moisture cycles from 5 to 19 percent moisture content (MC), and found that truss plates backed out a distance of about 17 percent of the tooth length. Gangnail GN2O 20-gauge truss plates (3 in.
In removable prosthesis, the artificial teeth arrangement, beside with other guidelines to occlusal plane level should be assessed clinically for correct tooth length and gingival display on the basis of individual smiling characteristics.4,16 Gender difference concerning the displayed anterior teeth and related gingivae at maximum smiling positions should be measured on an individual basis while restoring teeth.
Crown lengthening involves the surgical removal of hard and soft periodontal tissues to gain supracrestal tooth length, allowing for clinical crowns and reestab- lishment of the biological width.12 Crown lengthening has been described as a procedure similar to an apically repositioned flap with ostectomy/osteoplasty.13 The lengthening procedure is indicated to provide tooth length for caries removal, restoration of the tooth with- out violating the biologic width, restoration retention and aesthetics.14
