toning A form of vocal or sound therapy, which consists of producing elongated vowel sounds and allowing them to resonate through the body. Toning is believed by its advocates to reduce stress, balance the mind/body and improve hearing and speech, as well as promote healing, creativity and vitality; it is often used in conjunction with meditation and yoga.
