A measure of the concentration and strength of a substance, such as an antiserum or antibody, in solution. Titre is estimated by the highest dilution that still allows a detectable effect.

titre

the concentration of a substance in a solution, for example the amount of specific antibody in a serum. The concentration is usually expressed as the reciprocal dilution. For example, when 1:200 gives a positive test and greater dilutions are negative, the titre is 200.
