A loose, haphazard arrangement of plump, spindled cells—usually fibroblasts—that may have elongated cytoplasmic processes, typical of fibromatosis and nodular fasciitis, which creates a “storiform” pattern fancifully likened to that seen when normal fibroblasts are grown in culture media.
