third-sector body

An umbrella term used in the UK for non-governmental, “value”- driven, not-for-profit organisations which lie between the government (statutory) and private sector. Third-sector bodies are often specialist service providers and include voluntary groups, charities, community groups, faith organisations, social enterprises and co-operatives.
