tetracid(tĕ-tras′id) [ tetra- + acid]
1. Of acids, having four hydrogen atoms replaceable by basic atoms or radicals.
2. Of a base or alcohol, able to react with four molecules of a monoacid or two of a diacid to form a salt or ester. This term is disapproved by some authorities.
