tautomers

Structural ISOMERS that exist in equilibrium with each other. They have identical chemical formulae but their molecular structures differ slightly. A change in tautomeric form in the bases in DNA can cause a mutation as the alteration in the position of the atoms can interfere with the formation of HYDROGEN BONDS between the base pairs.

For the first time the values of proton affinities were calculated taking into account the contributions of rare tautomers of cytosine and guanine and the ir protonated forms.
3] showed the following characteristics: a complex series of signals at 1-4 ppm which we assigned to various aliphatic protons, the number of peaks being doubled because both enol and keto tautomers were present (Fig.
The ligands were prepared by ligand preparation tool of Schrodinger suite wherein all possible conformation, ionization states, protonation states and tautomers of ligands were generated.
