a deformity due to weakness or absence of the calf muscles, in which the axis of the calcaneus becomes vertically oriented; commonly seen in poliomyelitis.

talipes calcaneus

Talipes in which the foot is dorsiflexed and the heel alone touches the ground. It causes the patient to walk on the inner side of the heel and often follows infantile paralysis of the calf muscles.
