A multinucleated cell that has formed by fusion of separate cells.

symplast that part of a plant consisting of the PLASMALEMMA and the cytoplasm contained within the plasmalemma, outside which is the APOPLAST (2). The symplastic organisation enables symplastic transport between live cells, via PLASMODESMATA.
