Histopathology.--These lesions are characterized either by polypoid proliferations of elongated glands, resembling hyperplastic polyps of stomach, or polypoid growths of granulation tissue with acute and chronic inflammation of the lamina propria, and ulceration of the surface epithelium
(Figure 4, B).
In all biopsy materials prepared by the immunohistochemical staining method (BondMax, Leica, Wetzlar, Germany), six separate points were given to the staining intensity at the surface epithelium
, mucosal glands, and stroma of both the gastric antrum and gastric corpus.

of tonsil is invaginated to form tonsillar crypts.
In addition, portions of the surface epithelium
and superficial glands revealed adenomatous change.
SC shows a biphasic histologic appearance with surface epithelium
showing features of mild dysplasia to invasive carcinoma and an atypical stroma composed of fusiform cells giving a fibrosarcoma-like appearance [3, 6].
When the injury damaged only the ocular surface epithelium
, including the limbus but sparing the corneal stroma, CLET was sufficient to restore corneal integrity and improve visual acuity; when the corneal stroma was involved by the injury, the corneal scarring required a subsequent keratoplasty for visual recovery  (Figure 4).
