subsultus(sŭb-sŭl′tŭs) [L., to leap up]
Any tremor, twitching, or spasmodic movement.
An involuntary twitching of the muscles, esp. of those of the arms and feet, causing movement of the tendons. It is thought to be a hallmark of some febrile diseases, such as typhoid fever.
