The percentage of leaf streaking for each infested leaf was measured across the leaf width by (i) counting the number of circles showing white or chlorotic areas, (ii) dividing that number by the total number of circles across the leaf at that point, and then (iii) multiplying by 100.
Three parameters of the effect of RWA infestation on streaking were measured: (i) RWA placement-RWA were either caged on a half-emerged leaf or placed in the whorl of the newly emerging leaf; (ii) RWA age-RWA were either 1 d old or 5 d old at the time of infestation; and (iii) leaf development-the resulting streaking was measured in two sections of each leaf.
As a result, streaking can appear near the gate area of the part.
A natural (uncolored) sample of the same resin was included to investigate the effect of colorants on the formation or intensification of streaking.
