One easy update that is simple to do, however, is
splashbacks. They sit behind the sink and are essential to stop water being sprayed everywhere when hands, fruit, vegetables and whatnot are washed.
Conventional wallpaper can often be used too - the important thing is to protect it with a clear glass panel, such as the good value Laminate glass clear
splashback (PS40, B&Q), or a clear acrylic panel away from the hob or cooker.
If you want to create a unique
splashback and/or upstand, how about using wallpaper?
From large print designs - which seem like a work of art - to practical polished chrome; there is a
splashback for every kitchen and every style.
Consider a brightly coloured
splashback to contrast beautifully with dark-coloured cabinets.
Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid diluted in warm water and simply soak the
splashback to soften the oil and then clean.
