PDGFD

A gene on chromosome 11q22.3 that encodes platelet-derived growth factor D, a growth factor which plays a key role in regulating embryonic development and in cell proliferation, migration, survival and chemotaxis. It is mitogenic for macrophages and mesenchymal cells, and plays an important role in wound healing and in angiogenesis.

Molecular pathology
PDGFD appears to play a role in mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis.
