solid solution

a mixture of metals, which form a single phase system and in which the atoms are scattered randomly throughout the crystal structure (space lattice). Metals are miscible in the liquid state and remain completely mixed on solidification.

The aqueous Ba concentrations increased with the increasing [X.sub.Ba] of the ([Ba.sub.x][Sr.sub.1-x])HAs[O.sub.4] x [H.sub.2]O solid solution.
The analysis of the reciprocal space maps (Figure 1) leads to the conclusion that epitaxial solid solution growth is coherent on GaAs (100) substrates, and samples have a small stress and composition gradient in the epitaxial layers, which is evidenced by the position and shape of nodes in reciprocal space for symmetric and asymmetric reflections.
When using the BNi--5 (Ni--19Cr--10.1Si) brazing alloy with no boron, the resultant brazed joint usually contains at least four microstructural components, including the grains of the solid solution based on nickel, intermetallic compounds, characterised by high hardness and brittleness, binary and ternary eutectics which reduce the strength of the brazed joint (7).
Adding microelements can decrease the solder melting point because these microelements can dissolve in the solid solution of SnBi20 and alter the space between tin and bismuth atoms, therefore altering the combination force between atoms.
Prices for its solid solution and brominated epoxy resins will increase by 120 euro/MT.
NIST research on [Li.sub.1+x-y][Nb.sub.1-x-3y][Ti.sub.x+4y][O.sub.3] ceramics has demonstrated that what actually forms is not a solid solution but rather a homologous series of distinct compounds which feature intergrowths of [LiNbO.sub.3]-type blocks and corundum-type layers.

We prevent crimes, and those that cannot be prevented from being committed must be suppressed with solid solution through efficient investigative work and techniques,' he said.
'It should be the other way around: We prevent crimes, and those that cannot be prevented from being committed must be suppressed with solid solution through efficient investigative work and techniques,' Lacson, who served as former National Police chief before his election to the Senate, said.
Qlik will expand its coverage by maximising its presence in the region and relying on a solid solution provider like Everteam who has a strong and historical presence in the region with high profile and prestigious customers using our solutions in a mission-critical environment.
When analyzing the four-component solid solution [Hg.sub.1-x][Mn.sub.x][Te.sub.1-y][Se.sub.y] as a system in which several phases are assumed, the condition for the existence of two phases that are in equilibrium is used [6, 7], by means of which the existence of second-order phase coexistence spaces is verified:
The heat treatment including solution annealing, quenching, and ageing is the most widely used method to improve strength properties of these alloys due to the formation of precipitates from supersaturated solid solution during applied natural or artificial ageing [3].
