Sincipital (frontonasal, nasoorbital, and nasoethmoidal) encephaloceles, nasal dermoids, nasal gliomas, and fron-toethmoidal sinus tracts all represent a spectrum of congenital anomalies.
Sincipital encephaloceles present as visible facial swelling in the region of the forehead, nasal bridge, or orbit, whereas basal variants are situated in the nasal cavity, sphenoid sinus, nasopharynx, or pterygopalatine fossa and therefore are not externally evident.5 Nasal encephaloceles are anterior encephaloceles where meningeal herniation occurs through a midline defect in the floor of the anterior cranial fossa.
